OROFINO - The funeral for Myrtle L. Ellis, an Ahsahka, Idaho, homemaker, will be conducted at noon Tuesday at Pine Hills Funeral Chapel at Orofino.
The 84-year-old Ahsahka woman died of a heart attack Friday at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center at Lewiston.
She was born Oct. 29, 1910, at Murray, Idaho, to Edgar and Hattie Bell Dodge. The family moved to Dent, Idaho, when she was a small child and she attended the Dent School.
She married Luther Profitt May 7, 1928, and they lived at Ahsahka. They owned and operated the Rainbow Inn there from 1949 to 1954 and also leased out the business. Her husband worked as a logger before his death in 1973.
She continued to make her home at Ahsahka and married Leo Ellis at Spokane Aug. 16, 1975.
She enjoyed oil painting, gardening, camping, fishing and crocheting and was a member of the Ascension Lutheran Church at Orofino.
Survivors include her husband of Ahsahka; two daughters, Jean Daniels of Lewiston and Betty Bond of Spokane; three sons, Donald Profitt of Orofino, and Robert Profitt and Jerry Profitt, both of Lewiston; a stepson, William F. Ellis of Spokane; two brothers, Ted Dodge of Ahsahka and Raymond Dodge of Spokane, 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 10 stepgrandchildren.
A granddaughter, three brothers and three sisters died previously.
Following her funeral, burial will be held at 2 p.m. at Lewis-Clark Memorial Gardens at Lewiston.
The family suggests memorials be sent to the American Heart Association, in care of West One Bank, P.O. Box 1240, Orofino, Idaho 83544.
